SPEAKERS' CORNER TRUST
Speakers’ Corner Trust is a registered charity which promotes free expression, public debate and active citizenship.
Our approach is based on the belief that association between citizens and the free, face-to-face exchange of ideas, information and opinions – with each other as well as with the decision-takers among them – is a key to rebuilding trust and participation in community life and governance in Britain and developing vibrant civil institutions and robust rights in emerging democracies.
ACADEMICS FOR ACADEMIC FREEDOM
Academics For Academic Freedom (AFAF) was founded in 2006 as a campaigning group for all lecturers, academic-related staff, students and researchers who wanted to defend unimpeded enquiry and expression. It began with a statement of Academic Freedom which lecturers and others could sign but has since taken up the case for free speech and academic freedom around the world. AFAF is also heavily involved in case work much of which never hits the headlines.
Themselves is a multi-disciplinary, non-curatorial platform/think-tank based (for now) in the South London area. Themselves began in March of 2018, with a series of think-tank communes and meetings, and then a regular set of lectures and presentations intended to create a network of far-ranging individuals who could share and develop each other’s ideas for change and progression.
